Specters of the Dam

One more ACG tale from the brief, but very cool Skeleton Hand series, and this story, despite a few kookball moments, has some really slick, moody art from the boldly dynamic Paul Cooper (Lambiek has brief, but interesting notes on him HERE.) From the May-June 1953 issue of Skeleton Hand #5.

how often do you get to tell your grandfather-in-law to get back in the grave?...

It's pretty funny how they so nonchalantly talk to the dead. Whack-o story, great art. Wonderful.

Well that was beautiful. This guy just crowded the frame with moody detail, didn't he? All those trees are so damn wicked. And I like how half the time that girl was in profile to the left hand side of the frame, just watching and commenting like the world's most vanilla horror host.

Just once would suit me fine.

I agree... when speaking with the dead, one should be extravagant and over the top!

Cooper was great at that (remember The Murderous Mimics and its strange swirly shape shifters?)
